Privacy Policy for GastRotator

GastRotator ("the App") is built as a decentralized, local-first utility. Your privacy is our primary design constraint.

1. Data Collection

We do NOT collect any personal information. The App does not require user accounts, email addresses, or names to function.

2. Data Storage

All data you create or import (Recipes, Ingredients, Instructions, and AI Keys) is stored strictly on your device in an internal database and encrypted shared preferences. We have no backend servers and cannot access your data.

3. Third-Party Services

The App communicates with two external services to provide its functionality:

• Google Gemini API: Used for recipe extraction and nutritional estimation. This uses YOUR own API key. Data sent to Gemini is governed by Google's Generative AI privacy policy.
• YouTube: Used to fetch video metadata and transcripts. This is a read-only functional connection.

4. Your Control

You have full control over your data. You can delete individual recipes or clear the entire database at any time. You can also export and import your own backups via the Settings menu.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
